Paramount Plus‘s new TV and movie releases for December 11-17 include The Billion Dollar Goal documentary and Ben Foster, Toby Wallace, Jenna Ortega, and Tommy Lee Jones’ Finestkind.
Starting on December 11, viewers can stream the documentary and Paramount Plus original, The Billion Dollar Goal. This three-part documentary series makes use of exclusive archival footage, animation, and insider interviews to chronicle soccer history, especially its beginnings as an immigrant’s game, and evolution in the United States, in particular, the historic moment of 1989 when Paul Caliguri’s goal ended USA’s 40-year World Cup qualification issue and helped bring soccer to a wider audience in the States.
Then on December 15, viewers can watch the crime-thriller drama Finestkind, which first premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on September 8. The film tells a story about two estranged brothers hatching a deal with a Boston crime syndicate, which puts them in a pretty dangerous scenario alongside their father and a mysterious young woman. This film is directed by Brian Helgeland and stars Ben Foster, Toby Wallace, Tommy Lee Jones, and Jenna Ortega. Other cast members include Ismael Cruz Cordova, Aaron Stanford, Tim Daly, Lolita Davidovich, Clayne Crawford, and Fernanda Andrade.
Other releases for Paramount Plus during this week include Jules, Born in Synannon, Love & Hip Hop: Miami (Season 4), The National Christmas Tree Lighting, and Willie Nelson’s 90th Birthday Celebration Concert Special.
